Matthew Hanson

Matt Hanson is a Principal and Senior Vice President for Private Alternatives at AB, where he leads capital formation in North America, including private credit, asset-based finance, opportunistic credit and commercial real estate debt. Hanson was previously responsible for global fundraising and investor relations for AB CarVal. He began working in the industry in 1995 and has experience in alternative investments across private credit, commercial real estate, real assets and infrastructure strategies. Prior to joining AB CarVal in 2003, Hanson was an associate with the Carlyle Group in Washington, DC, and was a manager at Deloitte & Touche, working in the audit and attestation group. He served in the South Dakota Army National Guard. Hanson holds a BSBA (honors) in accounting from the University of South Dakota. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (inactive).
